Job Description

Work closely with client business owners and our internal Transactions and Business Optimization teams to analyze a company from a financial, operational and strategic perspective to prepare Valuation Report documents tailored to the unique strengths and weaknesses of the company, including not only the standard valuation approaches but a more robust qualitative analysis regarding marketability of the client’s company. The Valuation Analyst will prepare industry leading work product Valuation Reports, Offering Memoranda and SWOT analyses in a timely manner. The end product will not only provide detailed analysis of the company on a financial level but also internally in terms of operations and transferability in addition to externally in terms of market positioning, sale and marketing initiatives and the market sector landscape.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with client business owners to gather information needed to develop Valuation Reports, Offering Memoranda and Optimization Reports
  • Research and understand the client business owner’s industry thoroughly
  • Manage and execute upon the preparation of Valuation and Marketing documentation (Valuations, Offering Memoranda, other al a carte reports such as comps, etc.)
  • Communicate directly and regularly with clients regarding:
          o Recasting financial information
          o Company history, Company profile and internal dynamics that affect ‘value’
          o Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats facing the business
          o Unique value enhancers and risk factors
          o Internal platforms that create market value
          o Factors that may mitigate value
  • Quantify value enhancers and risk factors to develop projections
  • Prepare deliverable documentation in a timely manner with consistency
  • Strive to understand the clients business on all levels of tangible and intangible value qualifiers.
  • Work as part of a team to incorporate proprietary information, recommendations and value enhancers into the work products
  • Represent properly and professionally our mission statement and business ethics in every client interaction and maintain strict confidentiality

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years industry experience
  • A degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred but not required
  • Sample work product required
  • Industry certification(s) are preferable (i.e.: through the ASA, IBA, AICPA, NACVA, or other qualified association)
  • Superior MS Excel and Word knowledge and skill a must; proficiency with complex formulas and macros is crucial
  • Understanding and ability to compute financial ratios and perform comparisons among various comparable companies
  • Strong analytic, problem solving and critical thinking skills are crucial
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain in a fast paced and fluid environment
