Gene Sartin, President and CEO, understands the challenges of business ownership and the issues business owners face in successfully exiting a business. Mr. Sartin has a unique and broad background in corporate management as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has been involved in the Initial Public Offering (IPO) sector since the mid-1970s. Mr. Sartin brings diverse array of relevant experience as a large public company corporate executive, business owner, NASDAQ-listed company officer and financial consultant. As the former founder and CEO of a highly profitable construction company, Mr. Sartin grew his organization and eventually sold it to a Public Company. He stayed with the company after the merger as an officer and exceeded all corporate goals for growth and profitability. Mr. Sartin's knowledge of the selling process from the perspective of both the buyer and the seller makes him uniquely qualified to assess the strengths and weaknesses of companies considering an exit strategy, as well as companies seeking to improve profitability, establish accountability and internal controls, and raise venture capital. Through The Transition Companies he ably assists those in need of an exit, capital raise or turn around strategies and talent. Mr. Sartin is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, with a degree in finance. He has also pursued MBA studies at the University of Houston. Additionally, Mr. Sartin has been named to the Who's Who of Business Professionals. ![]() Michael Ryan The Transition Companies Executive Vice President Michael Ryan is a former business owner and has over 15 years experience as an investment banker. Mr. Ryan was the founder and a principal at InterPrise M&A LLC ("InterPrise"), an international middle market M&A firm. InterPrise merged into The Transition Companies in mid 2008. Prior to that he was a Managing Director with Citigroup in Citigroup Capital Strategies, Inc. In this role Mr. Ryan was responsibile for all private market M&A activity in the northeast. Mr. Ryan covered and managed 12 states with a portfolio of over 60 companies in market with an additional 26 companies in incubation as they prepared for market. He led a team of 12 M&A professionals including M&A Associates, M&A Analysts, and Dealmakers and Bankers covering the range of Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, and Assistant Vice Presidents. His experience includes analysis and valuation of client companies for development of an M&A marketing strategy. Mr. Ryan has developed and/or edited a vast number of Confidential Blind Business Profiles and Confidential Business Reviews (CBR) to position client companies in the market place. He has developed numerous prospective purchaser lists and overall marketing strategies and has launched, or managed the launch, of well over 250 companies to market. Additionally, Mr. Ryan has reviewed, consulted, valued, and provided M&A advisory services to over 600 companies spanning the manufacturing, distribution, information technology, and service sectors. While leading his team and performing these duties and services, Mr. Ryan personally and directly closed over 43 transactions in various industries including all of the above. Mr. Ryan has personally founded and sold 2 companies and acquired 2 other companies. His career started with Northrop Grumman in F-14 fighter manufacturing operations and fleet readiness where he held a DOD Confidential Security Clearance. Thereafter, Mr. Ryan was associated with Raytheon Company where he held a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance. Mr. Ryan is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Accounting. He has been active in charitable organizations serving The Park Avenue Club, a charitable foundation, as Membership Chairman. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), President of a ski club, and he is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do karate. Mr. Ryan serves his community on the local Zoning Board well as functioning as The Transition Companies Corporate Broker of Record. ![]() R. Parker The Transition Companies Executive Director Operations Richard Parker's background spans more than thirty years as a Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor, Real Estate Professional and Entrepreneur. He has provided personal consultation in many different business categories regarding valuation and exit strategy. Richard brings vast experience and insightful review to any business owner contemplating the eventual sale of their business. Since the exit from their business is likely to represent the most important, and largest, financial event in the life of a business owner it is important to do it right and with the right strategies in place. For most business owners, this important liquidity event will occur only once. A successful business owner himself, He and his wife Sally have founded, built and sold three Printing and Graphic related companies, two in Arkansas and one in the Dallas Texas during the last thirty year time period. He is responsible for the review, initial analysis, selection and recommendation of potential The Transition Companies clients. Pohoretsky The Transition Companies Executive Director Business Optimization Group Mr. Allan Pohoretsky heads up the Business Optimization Group within The Transition Companies LLC ("TTC"). The Business Optimization Group is tasked with increasing the profitability of a privately-held company while also increasing the company's Business Enterprise Value as well as the anticipated market value when the company enters the M&A marketplace. TTC is "Unique in Our Space" because no other mergers and acquisitions firms specializing in the sale of privately-held companies also offer business improvement alternatives in house for clients not yet ready to go to market. Mr. Pohoretsky has over 25 years business management experience and has assisted over 600 small to medium sized privately-held companies in enhancing their value. Mr. Pohoretsky obtained his Honors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After College, Mr. Pohoretsky spent 15 years working for The Ford Motor Company in Corporate and Regional Offices throughout North America. Mr. Pohoretsky spent another 15 years traveling to all 50 states, 10 Provinces, and 3 Territories in the United States and Canada performing turnaround consulting for struggling small and medium size privately held companies. The turnaround consulting focused on sound business management principles including but not limited to cash resource management, sales planning and analysis, productivity and efficiency, operations, financial management and measurement, and business metrics.
